Thursday 21st March
Hope Over Fear will be holding a Rally in George Square on Sunday 24th March 2019at 1pm, calling for the SNP Government to ‘Use the Mandate’ and announce a date for a second Independence Referendum.
The Rally will be calling on the SNP Government to announce a date for a second Scottish Independence Referendum.
Tommy Sheridan, Hope Over Fear, said:“In the past 5 years, things have got worse for the people of Scotland, not better. The Tories’ austerity agenda has caused more suffering for ordinary people – poverty has increased; benefits have been slashed; pensions cut; Public Services reduced or abolished; the list goes on – whilst at the same time, the rich continue to get richer, thanks to the Tory tax breaks.
“In 2014, the people of Scotland were told that if they voted to stay in the UK, they would guarantee staying in the EU. However, it has turned out that the opposite is the case, with Scotland being dragged out the EU against its will, despite 62% of Scots voting to Remain.
“The Unionist keeping telling us that now is not the time for another referendum on Scottish Independence, but the people of Scotland cannot wait any longer.
“We must break the chains from the complete shambles that is Westminster, where Scotland’s voice is continuously ignored. So I say to Unionists – NOW IS EXACTLY THE TIME!
“We must LAUNCH THE LIFEBOAT and get off the sinking ship of Westminster”!
“We call upon the SNP to use their triple-lock mandate and announce the date for a second referendum on Scottish Independence as soon as possible.
